Canon introduces also the stylish Power Shot ELPH 500 HS (known as IXUS 310 HS in Europe and as IXY 31S in Japan) digital camera with a touch panel LCD. With a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor, the camera comes with the HS SYSTEM technology to improve image excellence in stumpy light situations without the necessary for a flash.
Canon’s ELPH 500 HS has a f/2.0 4x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilizer and 24mm wide angle and a 3.2-inch touch screen LCD for touch action.
It supports Full 1080p HD video recording and features the Movie Digest Mode that records a short video clip right before shooting a still image and then combines one day’s worth of clips into one video. There is HDMI output.
The touch screen camera includes also Face Detection, Motion Detection, ISO up to 3200, Smart AUTO mode that cleverly selects the correct settings for the camera based on 32 predefined shooting situations High speed Burst Mode that captures 8.2fps and Super Slow Motion Movie that records video at high speeds to allow slow motion playback.
