NEC announced a new professional MultiSync monitor, the P232W-BK at the InfoComm 2012. It is budget-friendly and P232W uses IPS LCD technology with wide 178/178-degree viewing angles for optimum performance and accurate color display, and white LED backlight for slimmer depth and low power consumption. The monitor is 23-inch. It features Full HD 1920×1080 resolution, 250cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 8ms response time. The MultiSync P232W comes with internal 14-bit 3D programmable lookup tables (LUTs) for calibration, and ICC Profile Emulation for quick access to alternate color spaces. It also includes Ambient light sensor to automatically adjust display’s brightness based on lighting conditions.
It gets a USB 2.0 hub (2 up / 3 down) with DisplaySync Pro, which allows users to control two computers with only one keyboard and mouse. It also has Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture capabilities, which allow two video signals to be viewed simultaneously in a secondary window configuration. The P232W-BK features a four-way ergonomic stand with 150mm height-adjust, tilt, swivel and pivot, and offers 100mmx100mm VESA mount. You can find Displayport, HDMI, DVI-D and VGA input connectors. NEC will also release the MultiSync P232W-BK-SV, which will feature hardware color calibration using the NEC SpectraViewII kit to deliver accurate color. The kit contains an optimized calibration sensor based on X-Rite Eye-One Pro and SpectraViewII calibration software, and is compatible with Mac and Windows PC. The P232W-BK and P232W-BK-SV will come in July and priced at $569 and $819.
